Numerous youth shooting programs are available in the Mat-Su Borough in all disciplines. Located at Grouse Ridge is a youth shotgun program, The Mat-Su Shooters, for shooters in elementary school through college. The Mat-Su Shooters, a Scholastic Clay Target Program of the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation, provides student athletes with a supportive environment where shooting sports serve as catalysts for the life lessons and skills that emphasize positive character traits and citizenship values. Through training, practice and competitions, we continue to instill in our participants a commitment to safe firearm handling, teamwork and leadership. For more information contact Lee Renfrew, NSCA Level II Instructor, 907-250-6892, or Randy Schuler 907-746-6732.
